INTRODUCTIONAcuvert Tablet is used in the treatment of nausea, vomiting, and migraine caused by various conditions. It is also used to treat vertigo (dizziness) due to ear problems (Meniere’s syndrome). Additionally, this medicine is also used in mental illnesses such as short-term anxiety.

BENIFIT OF TABLETAcuvert Tablet blocks the action of chemicals in the body that can make you feel or be sick. It is often used to prevent nausea and vomiting that may be caused due to some medicines and it is also effective in treating nausea/vomiting after an operation (in adults only). The dose will be decided by your doctor and you must always take this medicine as it is prescribed.

HOW TO USE TABLETTake this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Acuvert Tablet is to be taken with food.

HOW TO TABLET WORKAcuvert Tablet is a dopamine antagonist. Dopamine controls the region in the brain that causes nausea and vomiting and this medicine blocks the action of dopamine. Therefore, Acuvert Tablet shows an antiemetic action. Acuvert Tablet suppresses the vestibular apparatus in the inner ear and stops vertigo. The mechanism of action by which neuroleptics like prochlorperazine relieve headache is probably related to the dopamine D2 receptor antagonist. It has an antipsychotic effect by blocking the action of dopamine, which also affects thoughts and mood. So, it also helps to relieve short-term anxiety as well.
