It is generally used when one medicine alone is not controlling the blood pressure effectively. Lowering blood pressure helps to reduce your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke in the future.

BENEFITZensartan H 40 mg/12.5 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines namely telmisartan and hydrochlorothiazide. It is generally used when one medicine alone is not controlling your blood pressure effectively. Telmisartan works by relaxing and widening your blood vessels so your blood can flow more easily. This will lower your blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is known as a diuretic (water pill) which increases urine output thereby lowering blood pressure. If your blood pressure is controlled you are less at risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or kidney problems. The medicine must be taken regularly as prescribed to be effective. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well.

HOW TO USETake this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zensartan H 40 mg/12.5 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

HOW TO WORKZensartan H 40 mg/12.5 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Telmisartan and hydrochlorothiazide which lowers the blood pressure effectively. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin, thereby relaxing the blood vessels. This allows the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.
